Accompanying without creating dependency

At nosDeu we are big fans of accompaniment.

We like to build long-term relationships because we believe that working well with data takes more than just knowing the tools. It takes understanding the context, the business, the people, and also everything that has happened before to get here, as well as understanding where you want to go.

Over time, organizations change, teams mature, and needs are no longer the same. That is why we understand accompaniment (https://nosdeu.com/nosotros/como-trabajamos/el-acompanamiento) as something that also has to evolve: sometimes it is about solving, others about executing, others about helping to decide, and often simply sharing experience and judgment.

But there is another part that is just as important to us: accompanying should not generate dependency.

We try to explain the reasoning behind decisions, share knowledge, and ensure that knowledge stays within the organization. So that the team gains its own judgment and autonomy and, over time, might even need us less for certain things.

It may not be the way of working that scales best. But it is human, and we believe in it strongly.

To put this way of working into practice, we have created different accompaniment plans (https://nosdeu.com/nosotros/como-trabajamos/planes-de-acompanamiento), ranging from protecting and caring for what already exists to integrating as just another part of the team's day-to-day.

There is no mandatory path, nor do we aspire for everyone to reach the highest level of involvement. The idea is much simpler: to be where we can add the most value at any given time and evolve together when that moment changes.
